As your vacuum producer creates suction it pulls air, dirt and debris from the end user’s nozzle, through the vacuum hose, and into the lower half of the filter separator. Here, a precisely engineered cone creates a powerful cyclone that guides debris downward into a waste container. The air then passes through a series of filter bags contained in the upper portion of the filter separator. A properly sized filter separator with appropriate filter bags will collect 99.9% of debris at three microns – allowing only clean dry air to pass through the vacuum producer. The result? Primary Hopper Separators, “dirty” air is pulled through vacuum hoses and piping and then directly into the separator. Debris passes around a precisely engineered baffle and then drops out of the airstream through centrifugal action. Debris drops into a portable drum while air and any remaining particles move on to the next filtration device (typically a separator equipped with filter bags).
Island Pal Separators bring the benefits of AutoVac’s filter separators to the point of use. The Island Pal combines centrifugal action with the dust-trapping feature of stocking-type filter bags. The vacuum producer creates suction which pulls air, dirt and debris from the end user’s nozzle, through the vacuum hose and into the lower portion of the filter separator. Here, a specially designed cone guides debris downward into a waste container. The air then passes through a series of filter bags contained in the upper portion of the filter separator. A properly sized separator with appropriate filter bags will collect 99.9% at three microns – allowing only clean dry air to pass through the piping system and vacuum producer. This ensures high suction performance and helps eliminate piping failures.
AutoVac’s Primary Separator – your central vacuum system’s first line of defense in filtration. “Dirty” air is pulled through vacuum hoses and piping, and then directly into the primary separator. Waste and debris pass around a precisely engineered baffle and then drop out of the airstream through centrifugal action. Debris drops into a waste container while air and any remaining particles move on to the filter separator(see Filter Separator page). Primary separators are compatible with most central vacuum systems and are strongly recommended for systems with heavy airflow and/or underground piping.
Compact cyclonic separators can be added to central vacuum systems – typically at the point of use. These individual primary separators capture dirt and debris before air enters piping. This allows for easy recovery of items accidentally vacuumed. Each separator generally serves up to two hoses. Individual cyclonic separators are popular in self-serve central vacuum systems where customer are vacuuming their own cars. Items can be retrieved easily from the vacuum station itself (as opposed to attempting to find it in the equipment room). Separators are mounted directly to the piping support structure and collection bins can be freestanding or mounted as well.
